Cardinals Fall 1 Goal shy of the Midwest Championship

The Cardinals faced Bowling Green State University in the Midwest Championship game and fell just short, losing 7-6 ending a historic season for the Cardinals. Although, falling short of their main goal, winning the midwest, the Cardinals sent home the seniors in style. 

Saginaw Valley Advances to Midwest Championship Game 

April 26, the Cardinals defeated University of Michigan-Flint 15-13 to advance to the Midwest Conference Championship game for the first time in school history. This was the first ever postseason victory for the Cardinals. They will face the #1 Seed Bowling Green State University in the championship game. There were 6 different goal scorers for the Cardinals, most ever in a single post season game. 

No. 22 ranked Cardinals make playoffs for second time in 3 years

The Cardinals have been selected as a #3 seed in the Midwest Conference Championships. The winner of the tournament will go on to the Elite 8 nationally, which will be held at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Congratulations gentlemen!

Winner gets AQ to play in national championship tournament. 

No. 24 Cardinals late rally isn't enough vs. No. 9 Bowling Green

Cardinals fall to Bowling Green 14-8 in Bowling Green Stadium on Sunday, April 6. Bowling Green jumped out to a 6-1 lead early in the first half. The Cardinals made a late push but it wasn't enough as Bowling Green takes the victory and the overall No. 1 Seed in the Midwest Playoffs. 

No. 24 Cardinals Cruise Past No. 23 Akron 15-3 

Today, the #24 Cardinals marched into Lee R. Jackson Shrank Field and come out with a statement victory over #23 Akron 15-3. The Cardinals handed the Zips their first loss vs. an NCLL Michigan team in program history and their first loss at home this season. The Cardinals improve to 6-1 on the season (6-0 in conference play)


James Nichols led the team with 5 goals. Tanner Beckwith led the team in assists with 3. Nick Ruby saved 13 of 16 shots faced.


The Cardinals will take on #9 Bowling Green tomorrow afternoon in Bowling Green Stadium to fight for the #1 seed in the Midwest Conference Finals.

Saginaw Valley beats No. 25 Ball State in Overtime Thriller 11-10

Cardinals come back from a 10-5 deficit early in the fourth quarter to win in overtime. James Nichols puts the ball in the back of the net from a Kevin Loss pass midway through overtime to beat No. 25 Ball State in overtime at Wickes Stadium, keeping the winning streak alive at 5.
